The CollectionSpace Public Browser is a JavaScript application that runs in a web browser. The Public Browser Version 1.2 release includes support for Object “Stories” and bug fixes.

https://collectionspace.atlassian.net/browse/DRYD-931 Text added to the Alt Text field in the Media Handling record appears on hover over in the Public Browser.

https://collectionspace.atlassian.net/browse/DRYD-932 Exhibition Records with a Publish To of “CollectionSpace Public Browser” related to Objects with a Publish To of “CollectionSpace Public Browser” will appear as a faceted browser option on the left-hand side of the Public Browser.

https://collectionspace.atlassian.net/browse/DRYD-933 Objects with a Publish To of “CollectionSpace Public Browser” related to Exhibition records with a Publish To of “CollectionSpace Public Browser” will display additional Story/Digital Exhibition fields on the Object Detail record. Object > Object History Note, appears in Object Details as “Object Story”

Object > Owner’s Contribution Note, appears in Object Details as “Donor Story”

Object > Viewer’s Contribution Note, appears in Object Details as “Curatorial Story”

Exhibition > Title, appears in Object Details at the head of the Story/Digital Exhibition fields

Exhibition > General Note, appears in Object Details as “Donor Story”

Exhibition > Curatorial Note, appears in Object Details as “Curatorial Story”

Upgrading to v1.2

  1. /wiki/spaces/DOC/pages/2930125792 (LYRASIS for hosted clients, Server Sysadmin for self-hosters)

  2. Reindex (LYRASIS for hosted clients, Sysadmin for self-hosters)

  3. Upgrade to new version of public browser (CMS Sysadmin)

  4. Update public browser config (CMS Sysadmin)

For some changes, all those steps are required, but any might be skipped. Sometimes it will just be number 6, or just numbers 2 and 5. Sometimes it will just be 1, 3, and 4.
