8.2 Release Summary

The version 8.2 release includes a series of bug fixes, a handful of new fields recently requested by our community of users, and some changes to the development build process to ease future development. This is a minor release.

Release 8.2 does not contain any breaking changes.

Staff Interface

New fields

New fields have been added for production agent (verbatim) and procedure notes fields as follows:

  • Object Record: Production Agent (Verbatim): Free text field

  • ANTHRO Summary Documentation Procedure: Summary Documentation Note

  • ANTHRO NAGPRA Inventory: NAGPRA Inventory Note

  • ANTHRO Held In Trust: Held in Trust Note

  • ANTHRO Object Exit (new): Object Exit Note

Changes

  • Modifications to the Public Browser Templates for Anthro, FCART and LHMC: The purpose of the public browser template is to display a view of fields published to the browser. Over time, the public browser templates became out of alignment with the browser display. Changes were applied to realign the templates with the browser.

  • ANTHRO Both Summary Documentation Status and Inventory Documentation Status block of fields on the associated procedures were relabeled for clarity. The word “Documentation” was previously omitted from these labels with the 8.1 release. These two blocks of fields were designed to record details about the documentation status.

Accessibility Improvments

  • Appropriate and detailed error handling is an important component of accessibility. In recent testing, we have started to identify areas of improvement related to error handling in the interface. In this release, we have updated the Role Name and Role Description error messages.

Bug Fixes

A handful of bugs were resolved with this release.

Browser

The following changes were made to the browser and available with the 3.4.0 release of the browser:

  • Retain line breaks in display for free text fields

  • ANTHRO Add color field to display

  • Display related links field

Build Improvements

Several changes implemented for the 8.2 release were modifications to ease the build and development process for CollectionSpace. End users will not directly see these changes, but future development will benefit. These issues are classified as Developer Build as the Issue Type in the full list of resolved issues.
