Update Inventory Status: QA Test Plan

Test 1: Update Inventory Status

Action

  • Click on Create New in the top menu bar

  • Click on Objects to create a new Object Cataloging record

  • Enter any Identification Number

  • Set the Inventory Status field to any value other than deaccessioned

  • Save the record

  • Repeat this process twice, to create a total of three records

  • For at least one record, include two values for the Inventory Status field

Expected

  • You will successfully create three new Object Cataloging records

Action

  • Click on the Tools item in the top menu bar

  • Click on the Data Updates tab, and then Update Inventory Status

Expected

  • Update Inventory Status data update description will show on the right

Action

  • Click on the Run button at the top or bottom of the Update Inventory Status description page

Expected

  • The Update Inventory Status record list / new Status selection landing page will open

Action

  • Click on the Select button (underneath Records*)

Expected

  • The Objects search dialogue will open

Action

  • Click on the Search button at the bottom of the page

  • A list of search results will be returned; the three you created should be at the top of the list. If they are not, click on the updated column to resort and move them to the top.

Action

  • Click on the checkboxes to the left of the three records you created

  • Click on the Use Selection box

Expected

  • You will return to the Update Inventory Status record list / new Status selection landing page

  • The records you chose will be in the Records* box

Action

  • Click the New Inventory Status dropdown

  • Select deaccessioned

  • Click on the Run button

Expected

  • You will receive a confirmation message: “Completed Update Inventory Status: 3 records affected. Inventory status changed to deaccessioned.”

Test 2 - Confirm Inventory Status Changed

Action

  • In the top search box, choose Objects from the dropdown

  • Click Search

Expected

  • The three records you created will be returned

Action

  • Click on the first record in the list

Expected

  • The Inventory Status field will contain one value, deaccessioned

Action

  • Use the Next button to move to the second record you created

  • The Inventory Status field will contain one value, deaccessioned

  • Use the Next button to move to the third record you created
