Review and Comment Instructions

This Review and Comment page is for the CATALOGING PROCEDURE. Cataloging is the compilation and maintenance of key information, formally identifying and describing objects. It may include information concerning the provenance of objects. It need not bring together in one location everything known about an object, but should provide cross references to any other relevant information source known to the organisation.

NB: The Cataloging schema is quite extensive (well over 100 fields), and so has been broken up into several parts. To view the schema in its entirety, you may download an excel version here. The excel version contains two worksheets: one that contains only the fields recommended for the herbaria profile (sheet 1), and one that contains all the recommended fields plus all the fields in the default CollectionSpace configuration (sheet 2). In the second worksheet, fields in black are those recommended for inclusion in the herbaria profile, fields in green are proposed additions to the herbaria schema, and fields in red are in the default configuration and recommended for exclusion from the herbaria schema.
