Material Order Public Browser QA - Material Records
Test 1: Open Material Record
Actions:
- From the collections landing page, click on any material record in the image grid
Expected:
- You will be taken to an individual Material Record page
Test 3: Internal Links
Action:
- Following on Test 1, click on any of the linked data elements under the descriptive headers, e.g. Form > Common form > tile
Expected:
- You will be taken to a search results page with the term you clicked selected as a faceted browse term
Actions:
- Return to the Material record page using your browser's back button
- Click on the Holding Institution listing at the top of the record, under the Material name
Expected:
- You will be take to the bottom of the page, where you will see information specific to an organization's owned sample of the Material
Action:
- Click on the arrow-in-a-circle at the bottom right of the page
Expected:
- You will be returned to the top of the page
Test 5: External Links
Action:
- Continuing from a Material record page, click on linked text under the External Links header
Expected:
- A new tab will open at the URL specified by the external link, e.g. the home page of a materials manufacturer
Test 7: Image browse
Actions:
- Browse to find a Material record with more than one Material image attached; you will see a large image with several small images beneath it
- Click on the white arrow on the left or right side of the large image
Expected:
- The next image available will be shown
Action:
- Continuing from the same image, click on any of the smaller images in the slider below the large image
Expected:
- The large image will be replaced by the image you selected
Test 9: Return to search
Action:
- Continuing from a Material record page, click on the Return to search link above the Material name
Expected:
- You will be returned to the search results image grid
- If you previously re-sorted the search results, your sort method should remain
- If you did not have any search terms or facets chosen, you will be returned to the image grid of all records in the system
