Reporting from a Single Record
Test 1: Creating a report
- Actions:
- Select Acquisitions from the dropdown in the top center search box
- From the search results, choose one of the Acquisition records that has an ID number that includes the words "QA Test Acquisition All Fields"
- Once the record is open, click on the Reports menu on the right sidebar
- Select the Acquisition Summary report from the list
- Expected
- The Acquisition Summary report configuration screen will pop up
- Action
- Choose any format from the Dropdown
- Click the Run button
- Expected:
- A progress bar or spinner may appear
- User should not be able to edit the record or navigate away
- After some time, a browser dialog should appear, asking you to open or save the report. (Note: Depending on your browser and configuration, and on the choice you make from the browser dialog, the report may be opened directly within a browser window or tab, be opened by a 'helper' application, or be stored as a new file within your browser's downloads folder.)
- View the report - within a window or tab in your browser, if it appears there, or by opening it via a helper application such as Acrobat Reader, PDF-XChange or Foxit (Windows), or Preview (Mac OS X), if that's where it appears - and verify that it contains the relevant values from the Acquisition record.
- Actions:
- Variation A: Save the report
- Variation B: Open the report
- Variation A: Navigate to and open the report in your OS
- Expected:
- Variation A: Report should be saved and contain the correct information
- Variation B: Report should open and contain the correct information
Test 5: Running a report with unsaved changes
- Actions:
- Continue from Acquisitions record in Test 1. Change one field. Do not save.
- Choose a report from the Reports menu on the right sidebar
- Click the Run button
- Expected:
- The Acquisition Summary report configuration screen will pop up
- A warning will appear noting "This record has changes that have not been saved. The report will not include any unsaved data"
- Actions:
- Click Cancel
- Expected:
- Dialog should be dismissed
- No other changes should occur
- Actions:
- Click the Run button again
- Click the close symbol
- Expected:
- Dialog should be dismissed
- No other changes should occur
- Actions:
- Click the Run button again
- In the appearing dialog, click Save and Run
- Expected:
- A progress bar or spinner should appear
- User should not be able to edit the record or navigate away
- After some time, one of these two things should happen, depending on the format of the report you've chosen and your browser settings:
- Scenario One: The report will be opened open directly in the browser window.
- Scenario Two: A browser dialog should appear, asking the user to open or save the report.
- Expected (In Scenario One only):
- Report should appear in a browser window and contain the correct information, including the last change you made before clicking Save and Run
- Actions (In Scenario Two only):
- Variation A: Save the report
- Variation B: Open the report
- Variation A: Navigate to and open the report in your OS
- Expected (In Scenario Two only):
- Variation A: Report should be saved and contain the correct information, including the last change you made before clicking Save and Run
- Variation B: Report should open and contain the correct information, including the last change you made before clicking Save and Run
