8.1 Release Summary

The version 8.1 release includes support for new procedures to support NAGPRA (Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act) procedures in the Anthropology profile, a new restricted media handling procedure, new procedures for object exit and deaccession, improvements to SAML single sign-on , new pre-installed reports, accessibility fixes, and numerous bug fixes.

Release notes

Release 8.1 does not contain any breaking changes.

This release introduces two new procedures to replace existing procedures. Repatriation Request replaces NAGPRA Claim. Object Exit (new) and Deaccession replace Object Exit (legacy). We will continue to support the legacy procedures in this release. It is recommended that any new adopters, or those without existing data, remove access via permissions to the legacy procedures (link for instructions on how to do this).

  • The following new fields have been added:

    • Object Record > Object category block with Object category (term list controlled), Object Category count (numeric value)

    • Object category Count Unit (term list controlled), Note (free text) {Anthro only}

    • Object Record > Production place (verbatim)

    • Object Record > Published Related Links

    • User > User ID Field, populate with SAML assertion

 

  • The following new templates have been added:

Schema Changes

  • Relabeled the concept authority Ethnographic Culture to Cultural Group

  • Add unit to the object count block of fields on object record

  • Improved formatting .xlsx report output

  • Remove default values for record and inventory status

  • Add SSO ID field to user accounts and populate with SAML assertion

  • Update default term lists for the following:

    • Approval Status

    • Grave Association Codes

    • NAGPRA Category

Browser Indexing Changes

  • Added field(s) to Elasticsearch for the Object record: `publishedRelatedLinkGroupList`

  • Added a normalized version of its refname in the Materials record: `featuredCollectionGroupList/featuredCollection`

Bug Fixes

  • Vocabulary initialization can create terms with display names that duplicate user-added terms

  • Fix text search configuration does not exist error

 

Accessibility Fixes

  • Expand/collapse state of the element is missing

  • <html> element must have a lang attribute

  • Purpose of the link is not clear in context

  • Keyboard focus order is not logical

  • Programmatic label does not convey purpose of control

  • Focus indicator is missing

  • Page <title> does not identify the purpose of the page

  • No Instructions for non-standard key interactions

  • Reading order is not logical/Intuitive
