8.1 Release Summary

The version 8.1 release includes support for new procedures to support NAGPRA (Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act) procedures in the Anthropology profile, a new restricted media handling procedure, new procedures for object exit and deaccession, improvements to SAML single sign-on , new pre-installed reports, accessibility fixes, and numerous bug fixes.

Release 8.1 does not contain any breaking changes.

This release introduces two new procedures to replace existing procedures. Repatriation Request replaces NAGPRA Claim. Object Exit (new) and Deaccession replace Object Exit (legacy). We will continue to support the legacy procedures in this release. It is recommended that any new adopters, or those without existing data, remove access via permissions to the legacy procedures and opt for the new procedures in their place.

  • The following new fields have been added:

Browser Indexing Changes

  • Added field(s) to Elasticsearch for the Object record: `publishedRelatedLinkGroupList`

  • Added a normalized version of its refname in the Materials record: `featuredCollectionGroupList/featuredCollection`

Bug Fixes

  • Vocabulary initialization can create terms with display names that duplicate user-added terms

  • Fix text search configuration does not exist error
