MMI Gap Analysis

Overview

This gap analysis outlines functionality available in our current CMS and required by our collections department that is neither currently available in CSpace nor on the 2.0 Roadmap. It does not include a list of fields that will need to be added unless they exhibit behavior not supported by CSpace.

Administration

Must-Have

  • The ability to run reports on system events, e.g. logins or errors

Nice-to-Have

Cataloging

Must-Have

  • The ability to note that a catalog record should be published to the public browser
  • The ability to view two levels of the classification hierarchy (viewing the work type alone is insufficient)
  • Custodial information (the Spectrum procedure "Object Condition Checking and Technical Assessment" will work)
  • Use information (the Spectrum procedure "Use of Collections" will work)
  • The ability to "hide" representations if an object and its media are published to the public browser
  • The entity (persons and organizations), production, and publication authorities
  • The ability to add items to a "collection" that can be used to facilitate search, collections management activities, etc.

Nice-to-Have

  • The summary view
  • The ability to limit attributes by work type (may work through templates)
