Project authority or controlled list

Most natural history collections will need a Project authority or controlled list.  This will probably end up getting used in several places

  • on a Field Collecting Event authority record (to be developed)
  • on the Catalog record itself (for a specimen record)

Joyce Gross provides this information about how Projects are identified in some of the UC Berkeley systems: "One Project can have many collecting events (and usually does).  ProjectName is not currently a controlled list in Essig and doesn't have any other associated data, but it could. In Biocode, ProjectName is a controlled list with no other associated data."
