ID User Story Summary

User Story Summaries are for capturing notes about broad user stories, or user story themes, related to a particular topic. These may be used as inspiration and source material for creating specific user stories, which may in turn be implemented in various system releases. Some of these broad stories, or themes, may not be implemented in the 1.0 release.
Record-side

User can add identification number to record

  • System can validate legitimacy of manually added number

User can request next available number from chosen pattern

User can edit system-generated id number

User can request more than one id number in a given series

User can request next available part/item numbers for a chosen id number

User can create object identification number based on existing procedural number (e.g. item created from accession number 2009.001 would be 2009.001.0001)

User can request a block of unused identification numbers to be set aside/reserved

User can assign identification numbers to a group of objects

User can move a group of identifications numbers to a new field (e.g. intake numbers to other number to be replaced by acquisition number)

Admin-side

Admin can create pattern number

Admin can assign pattern number to field

If a user is working through a create new wizard and generates ten new accession numbers and then leaves on vacation for a week, at which point are the numbers released back to the general pool?
