Data Entry Templates

Introduction

Data entry templates provide a shorter version of the Object Cataloging schema for users, generally based on a workflow, domain- or organization-specific needs.

To select a template for data entry, click on the dropdown to the right of the Delete button on an Object Cataloging record. The template is “sticky,” meaning that the next time a user creates or views an Object record, the last template used will be selected. Users can change the template view at any time.

This template shows all fields available in the Object Cataloging record.

Inventory template

This is a sample template showing how an organization can limit the fields available in Object Cataloging to support a specific workflow.
